Elaine J. Lansky - Artist Statement

My objective is to co-create artistic designs with Goddess Earth that originate as gifts from the sea: sea glass and driftwood that I find washed ashore, as I walk the beautiful and serene beaches of Plum Island.

Plum Island Sea Art began as sea glass and driftwood mobiles that are a synthesis of light, balance, color and sound. The shapes, colors and sizes of sea glass inspire the designs. I also create ceramic mosaics, chimes, necklaces, earrings (utilizing sterling silver and 14 karat gold-filled metal, plus Czech glass beads and semi-precious stones), pins, eyeglass holders, and painted driftwood sea puzzles. Over the years, I have also enjoyed creating in watercolor, serigraphs and stained glass.
