I
graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art, in Boston, with a major
in Art Education and a minor in painting. I have career experience as an
art educator, a graphic designer, a muralist and am currently the
assistant manager of a fine art and craft gallery in my hometown of
Melrose. A member of several art associations, I enjoy doing demos,
teaching workshops, judging exhibitions and painting in my
studio/gallery in the South End of Boston.
I am an acrylic painter of still
life, landscape and the figure. I often paint from a still life set up
in my studio. I tend to paint series, which allows me to become very
familiar and comfortable with my subject. I become so in tune with the
nuances of my subject matter that I can quickly immerse myself in the
painting process. I apply paint generously with a direct, expressive and
emotional technique. I consider myself a painterly painter and want my
process to show through. Painting for me is a never ending challenge,
always evolving and feeding my spirit!
